NOTORIOUSLY cranky brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher could be set to bury the hatchet on their long-running feud, for the sake of reuniting iconic 90s band Oasis.

That’s the hot rumour doing the rounds in Britain, with speculation the group will reform to headline next year’s Glastonbury festival.

The event’s organiser Michael Eavis dropped the strongest hint yet overnight, telling the Mirror that he’s in regular contact with the brothers about the idea.

“Wouldn’t it be marvellous for them to relaunch at Glastonbury, now Liam has split from Beady Eye?” Eavis cryptically told the paper.

Oasis was plagued by difficulties during its heyday in the 1990s, including the departure of original members guitarist Paul Arthurs and bass guitarist Paul McGuigan towards the end of the decade.

The famous brothers had a volatile relationship that often led to very public bust-ups and wars of words.

Noel quit the band for the first time in 1994 and again for good in 2007 following a backstage argument with Liam, which ended in a smashed guitar and the end of Oasis.

BROTHER FEUD: Noel Gallagher apologies to brother Liam over Oasis remarks

The remaining members went on to form a new group with Liam, called Beady Eye. They announced their split in October.

While Liam has often said he’d be keen to reunite, Noel has dismissed the idea — until recently.

In a recent fan Q & A on Facebook, he admitted he was interested in performing at Glastonbury, emphatically stating: “Yes, if I was asked, yes. If you are listening Michael Eavis, I’ll do it.”

RAGING SUCCESS: The most successful family bands ever

It’s worth pointing out that Oasis reunion rumours have popped up every year or two, but usually without fuelling by the brothers — particularly Noel.

Glastonbury will take place from June 24 to 28 next year near Pilton in England.
