What does a ‘room without a roof’ feel like?
WE’VE all been singing the lyrics to Pharrell Williams’ Happy for months now.
You know the one:
“Because I’m happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof”
But while we’ve been bopping along, we’ve all been asking ourselves the very same question.
What exactly does a room without a roof actually feel like?
On Wednesday night we found out.
Aussie comedian Kate Langbroek tweeted the singer to ask him for an explanation to the roofless metaphor.
Heya @Pharrell, why is a room without a roof happy? #lyricalriddle

And the singer promptly responded.
Hi Kate It is metaphorical for one's space w/out limit. “@katelangbroek: Heya @Pharrell, why is a room without a roof happy? #lyricalriddle”

This emotion can be infinite and achievable by all. “@katelangbroek: Heya @Pharrell, why is a room without a roof happy? #lyricalriddle”
