ONE of the most successful comebacks in music this year has to be The Veronicas.
Twins Jess and Lisa Origliasso have one of the biggest hits of the year on their hands in You Ruin Me, which is No.1 again on the ARIA charts this week.
“We were completely shocked, we didn’t expect it,” Lisa told Confidential in Melbourne.
“We didn’t expect anything, we just kind of wanted to get it out there, but for that to have happen, and for so many people to connect to the song, it’s very validating.”
The Veronicas had three years virtually releasing no music, after disputes with their former record company Warner Music.
They are now signed with Sony Music.
They admit the ballad You Ruin Me is very different to the catchy pop songs people are used to.
“It was even really risky for us, we were like, we are not sure how this song will be received,” Jess said.
“But we felt really good about the song, and being so vulnerable and raw and putting our hearts and souls out there.”
