28 free songs, great country & singer/songwriter tunes & couple of pleasant surprises,
Tunecore’s Valentine 2013 spectacular starts with Volume 1.
First thing first, this sampler is definitely not Alternative Rock, Pop as shown in Amazon Genre. Couple of Pop tracks, couple of great tracks, much mellow, country, singer/songwriter product, this is a Valentine’s release & it’s free, is all good.
Track 1. It’s All Because Of You by Tyler Barham. Mellow country tune, male vocal over acoustic guitar. Nothing fancy, nice hook lyrics, very nice.
Very Soon by Mick And The Big Dawg Patriots. Similar feel to previous track, less impressive lyrics, messier sound, solid country song.
Like Kites by Madeleine Bell. Clipped female vocal over picking guitar (her web site says ukulele). Few other instruments add to the song. Vocal is not for me, you will love it.
Grapevines by Giancarlo Dittamo. Duet male/female uncomplicated lyrics describing teenage love/fun. Raw acoustic guitar & noises. You will love it.
So In Love With You by Neil McBride. Male vocal, acoustic guitar, man in love sings about it. This is a valentines sampler.
Paper Cup by Divining Rod. Acoustic male vocal over up beat guitars.
Lights (feat. Feather) by The Aviators. Straining initial female vocal over dreamy backing sounds, male joins in. Nice, busy, seemingly thoughtful song kinda meandering still like it.
Your Heart Is My Home by Trouvere. Male/female opening vocal over minimal sounds, early whoa hohoho-ing, never a good sign. Song stays very simple & predictable. You may love it.
This Is Your Valentine by Abbe Anderson. Event specific song including chocolate heart reference, smooth backing track, lounge singer vocal. Okay.
Valentine MMxiii by David. Could be harpsicord over painful male vocal opening that migrates into spoken rap, back to vocal that is not for me.
Love Conquers All by The Turnstyles. Pseudo Oasis-style vocal over controlled backing track. Actually not bad, kinda like the lead vocal. Nothing new, at 4mins 30 secs, 1 min 30 too long.
I Still Believe by Andrea Marchant. Slow strong pleasant female vocal opening that soon erupts with Ms Marchant’s voice. She shows off her range few of times during the song sounds great. Backing band keeps up, all about the vocal. Very nice.
My Love Will Never Fail You by Marie Hines. Very nice female vocal over active band, neat song that slows & picks up when needed. Nice lyrics, cool chorus, quality song. Love it.
I Know You’re There by Jamie Shaler. Country male vocal & pickin’ guitar. Simple lyrics, simple instrument play, nice song great for the moment.
Track 15. Meet Me In The Middle by Jezzebelle. Neat hippy opening and laid back country female vocal over the usual instruments. Nothing fancy, like it.
She by Todd Richard. Country male vocal over strings & quality production. Very sentimental genuine and touching song. You all will love it.
Long Long Time (feat. Mike Mentzer) by Matt Ryd. Mediocre male vocal, guitar and simple romantic lyric opening leads into up beat country band and song steps it up a little. You will like it.
Your Lovely Face by Ukulele Jim. Low key ukulele play? leads classic strumming song. More country love. Ain’t nothing wrong with this.
You Do by Douglas Kittle. Lone male vocal, strings & guitar slowly describing himself & how well you do. Nothing wrong with this.
Cerebral Seduction by Joe Yander. Nice piano play.
Forever After Yours by Greg Sykes & Karlene Markham. Deliberate opening sounds like a song written for a musical. Theme continues dominant mostly male vocal over complementary backing music. You will love it.
Simple Hearts by Brad Batchelor. Okay lyrics country song with more than most guitar work between verses. Very nice.
One & Lonely by John E. Low. Great RnB vibe behind stylish male vocal and great guitar & keyboards making the right sounds. Love it.
Zombie Vamp Valentine by Ross Childress. Another song with soul. Great bass and RnB back track behind very cool lead riff & guitar moments & in your face vocal. Absolutely love it. Just read: Childress played lead guitar & co-wrote w/Collective Soul. Helps explains this great song.
Love Is All We Need 2013 by Paul Snook. Very nice soulful & much more song celebrating 2013. Great musical depth & nice vocals, this is another excellent song.
Be My Valentine by Acoustic Truth. Playful, simple song that strolls along. Male vocal over not much, female joins & sings same theme. Song works, what’s not to like.
My First Love Song by Kville. Country male vocal over acoustic guitar opening. Classic sound, lyrics & feel. Very nice.
Last track 28. I Know You Know by Tommy Busby. Dreamy male vocal, guitar, w/slight marching beat that vibrates the speaker although this is a mellow song, may be recorded or…

Nice Collection,
Really think this is a great cross section of music. The album starts right off with the first few tracks not teasing at all about how good these songs are. This really shows how much undiscovered talent is out there writing excellent music.
