CHAOS at the Soundwave music festival in Brisbane after a band encouraged the crowd to rush the stage and attack security guards.

Deathcore act Thy Art Is Murder reportedly told the crowd to "smash" security because "we wanna see someone put in hospital", Newsfeeds claims.

A YouTube clip shows pandemonium, as security is swamped by "up to 100" people trying to get onstage with the band.

The resulting chaos prompted organisers to cut the set short.

Festival promoter AJ Maddah said the band risked the "lives of my staff, the police, security and … fans".

"That is why we do not have many Australian bands on Soundwave," Maddah said.

Maddah announced on Twitter that the band had been kicked out of the tour – but he later changed his mind.

“Just met with TAIM. Hopefully we’ll see a more considerate band on the rest of the tour,” he tweeted.
