Coldplay’s new music video is about the breakup of an unhappy couple.

COLDPLAY has released a music video for their new single, Magic, starring frontman Chris Martin.
The singer plays a lovestruck magician’s assistant in the black and white video, taken from the forthcoming album Ghost Stories, released next month.
Martin manages to impress the object of his desire — played by Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon star Zhang Ziyi — through learning the art of levitation.
Fans are wondering if the emotional video — in which he sings about a relationship being “broken” — is about his failed marriage to Gwyneth Paltrow.
The lyrics indicate it could be: “Call it magic/Call it true/Call it magic/When I’m with you/And I just got broken/Broken into two.”
Martin ends up winning the mysterious girl in the video. Perhaps he’s trying to hint at wanting Paltrow back?
Gwyneth announced on her Goop website that she and her Coldplay husband were “consciously uncoupling” after 10 years of marriage.
