MILEY Cyrus, who’s set to perform an MTV Unplugged show in Los Angeles this week, will be getting a hand from none other than Madonna.

According to E! News, the pop legend will join Cyrus onstage for her MTV special, which airs Wednesday night in the US.

The two were reportedly spotted rehearsing on a Hollywood soundstage the day after the Grammys. At this stage, there’s no word on which song Cyrus and Madonna will be performing, but she’s apparently not the only guest to appear.

"The performance will showcase a more intimate side of Cyrus and feature surprise guests for an unexpected re-invention of the songs that have defined her career, including several from her number one critically acclaimed album, Bangerz," MTV said in a press release.

Since its debut in 1989, Unplugged has recorded classic shows by Nirvana, Bruce Springsteen, Mariah Carey and Adele. For Cyrus, it appears a good opportunity to show the world that she’s more than just an obsessive twerker with a large foam finger.

In fact, shortly after her infamous twerking performance at the VMAs, Cyrus compared herself to Madonna, who’s no stranger to controversy herself, in an interview with The New York Times.

"Last night, I was talking about some Madonna performances, and I said, ‘At some point, everything becomes irrelevant.’ Like, no one even thinks about when she did Like a Virgin at the VMAs," she said. "That just becomes a standard, where it’s just like, ‘Oh, that’s her thing.’ So, I feel like now that I did the VMAs, that just kind of became a standard for me, and then anytime I do anything else, they’re like, ‘Miley kept it tame tonight.’"
