Jessie J cancels Australian tour
NEW Voice judge Jessie J has cancelled her Australian tour at the eleventh hour.
The British singer was due to perform in Melbourne tonight but axed the remaining tour due to a sudden illness.
Dates in Adelaide on Wednesday and Perth on Friday have also been cancelled, not postponed.
It is the second consecutive time she has cancelled a show in Perth.
“Due to sudden illness I have unfortunately been medically advised to cancel my three remaining shows in Australia, so I can give myself time to rest and get better,” the singer said in a statement from her tour promoter Frontier.
“I am extremely sorry for any inconvenience this may cause my fans in Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide. If I could magic myself better and be there I would. I can’t wait to perform for you all in the future. Thank you for your support. Jessica x”
Refunds are available at point of purchase.
Jessie J had played nearly sold-out concerts in Brisbane and Sydney last week, with Frontier firmly denying industry whispers tickets sales for the remaining shows had been sluggish.
While she has a song, Masterpiece, in the ARIA Top 20, she is about to receive national exposure on the new series of The Voice, which she has been filming in Sydney.

Some punters on Frontier’s Facebook page have been less than sympathetic to Ms J’s sudden illness.
“Dave Grohl had severe gastro and still played in Perth! Harden the f— up!,” wrote Daniel Outhred.
Jessie J abruptly cancelled a show in Perth in 2012 due to “vocal exhaustion.”
Lisa Maree Dani Bennett “She cancelled her last 2 tours in Perth due to illness too and it was at the last minute. Unreliable.” wrote Lisa Maree.
@JessieJ that’s twice now I have brought tickets for my partner to your show and both times its been canceled #verydisappointing

Unsure why Jessie J has cancelled remaining concerts … The show in Auckland, although all freebie radio comp winners, was brilliant
