‘I wasn’t pretty, that I was fat’
BIG Fat Lie is the name of Nicole Scherzinger’s new album and she reveals recording helped her cripplingly low self-esteem.
Scherzinger, the former lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls whose boyfriend Lewis Hamilton, the motor racing champion-elect who, according to Forbes, earns $ 32 million, claims recording the album helped her reconcile with herself.
The 36-year-old told the Standard that she felt “I wasn’t enough, that I wasn’t pretty, that I was fat, and that I wasn’t worthy of more”.

Interesting stuff from Scherzinger, who according to celebritynetworth has a net worth of $ 8 million and spent two years on The X Factor in the UK and introduced the word “schamazing” into the English language.
“It feels good to be truthful because not everyone’s perfect,” she said in London before unveiling the album, her second after Killer Love in 2011.
“Everyone always has these preconceived notions — that you’re glamorous, you don’t have any problems, you don’t have any issues, and we all battle with our own issues.”
Quite when she felt so low is unknown. Perhaps it was when she lived with bulimia during The Pussycat Dolls era, or when she was dropped by her record label Interscope — this album is through Sony Music (RCA). Perhaps it was after Hamilton and Scherzinger broke off in 2007 — they reconciled earlier this year.
“I’m in a different place in my life now. I feel a bit more confident and comfortable in my own skin to be able to talk about things that I hadn’t talked about before,” Scherzinger said.
“I’m addressing some issues and things I’ve battled with in my life in the album and hopefully people can feel like they can relate to it.”
