GUY Pearce has been reunited with his Ramsay Street sweetheart Plain Jane Super Brain – with help from Larry Emdur.

Former Neighbours star Annie Jones appears in the twisted video for Pearce’s new single Fly All the Way.

The video is a parody of morning TV informercials, with Pearce and Jones playing parents dosing their kids up on happy pills.

Pearce says the dysfunctional family is deliberately meant to channel his Neighbours character Mike and Jones’s Jane.

“It was so much fun getting to work with Annie again. I just thought as we were venturing back into TV land, and there was to be a fairly typical ‘family’ scenario, it would be fun to see where Mike and Jane might’ve ended up after all these years.”

In the clip Pearce has eight different characters including a warped take on late Apple boss Steve Jobs and a TV chef serving up ‘Guy Pearce meat’.

The clip takes a surreal turn when the chef eats the human flesh and Pearce’s take on a fitness guru grows breasts.

The video was a collaboration with Melbourne director Tim White.

Pearce said “I knew I wanted to do something pretty nutty for this song and when Tim suggested we do a video centred around infomercial world I realised the idea was born. Tim took the rather petulant and unhinged nature of this song to a whole new level.”

White joked the video marries “bleak dystopian sci-fi films and Australian morning TV infomercials.”

“The items promoted in the film are all based on future products and research but they each have an element of inconvenience tying them to the present day. I wanted Guy to embody a range of archetypal TV personalities; from a celebrity chef to a gross sleazy salesman. His transformations are kind of mind blowing.”

Pearce released his first album Broken Bones last month.

Guy Pearce performs his new song ‘Thank Your Lucky Stars for Light’ from his debut album Broken Bones, set for release November 7th.

Jones played Jane Harris in Neighbours from 1986 to 1989, after losing the part of Charlene Mitchell to Kylie Minogue.

Jones has kept her hand in acting since, with roles in Blue Heelers, City Homicide and this year Wentworth.

After intimate launches in Sydney and Melbourne last month, Pearce has announced a full tour with former Powderfinger member Darren Middleton, who has released a solo album called Transitions.

Pearce is expected to take part in the Neighbours 30th anniversary documentary which will air next year.

“There’s no doubt what Neighbours meant to people,” Pearce said. “Even to this day I’ll be in London and someone will shout out ‘Hey Mike!’ and you think `That was nearly 30 years ago’. I’ve got a lot of fond memories of my time on that show.”
