Cody Simpson’s amazing Twitter gesture
HE’S the most followed Aussie on Twitter and last night he putting his massive social following in the hands of someone with a very important message.
The 18-year-old pop sensation handed his Twitter feed and 7.52 million followers over to an asylum seeker on behalf of the UN to raise awareness about the plight of refugees on the middle east.
The Gold Coast singer allowed Syrian refugee Thair Orfahli to tweet to his army of fans to tell his story about escaping from war-torn Syria and his path through Lebanon, Egypt and Italy to settle in Germany.
Simpson told his fans his tweets were going to be a little different for 24 hours and that he was taking part on the UN campaign #sharehumanity.
This tweet alone was re-tweeted over 450 times.
