Chart News: Meghan Trainor Nabs Longest UK #1 of the Year for a Female

US singer/songwriter Meghan Trainor has notched up a third week at the Official Singles Chart Number 1 spot with her debut single All About That Bass. The track has now become the longest-running Number 1 of 2014 so far by a female lead artist and the second-longest running Number 1 of the year altogether, following Clean Bandits Rather Be FT Jess Glynne, which spent four weeks at the summit at the beginning of the year. All About That Bass has also notched up a combined chart sales figure of over 100,000 copies for each of the last three weeks and, with just over 14% of this weeks 109,000 tally being attributed to audio streams, has also become the most streamed track of the week. |
