Epic Records has a long and storied history of working with some of the biggest and most respected artists in the business, as well as many along the way who may not have left the legacy that some built, but have gifted us with some of the catchiest and most memorable tunes the world has ever heard. It is yet to be seen what kind of career Meghan Trainor will have, but she’s off to a great start with her insanely catchy “All About That Bass”.

The newcomer has set a new record with her debut single “All About That Bass,” which this week becomes the longest-running number one hit in the label’s history. The song has thus far spent eight weeks in a row atop the Billboard Hot 100, which is truly quite an achievement. In fact, as far as Epic Records artists go, Trainor just bested the record set by their most famous signing, Michael Jackson. The King of Pop previously led the Hot 100 with “Billie Jean” in 1983 and “Black Or White” in 1991, both of which were on top for seven weeks.
