Chart News: Katy Perry ties Jennifer Lopez on Dance Club/Play Songs
SHE IS A CHAMPION: Katy Perry ties Jennifer Lopez for the most consecutive No. 1s on Dance Club/Play Songs, as Roar (2-1) becomes her 11th in a row. Remixes from Steven Redant and Treasure Fingers, among others, contributed to its ascent. Perrys streak, beginning with Waking Up in Vegas in August 2009, has yielded all of her No. 1s on the chart. Lopez first hit the top with Waiting for Tonight and Feelin’ So Good in 1999 and added Get Right in 2005. After reaching No. 14 with Control Myself in 2006, her active streak of leaders has encompassed 2007′s Que Hiciste through Live It Up in July. She, thus, has 14 No. 1s overall. |
