OMI’s ‘Cheerleader’ knocks Wiz Khalifa’s Fast & Furious 7 tribute off number one spot The reggae-pop track ousted midweek leader Carly Rae Jepsen to claim the top spot on the UK Top 40 Jamaican reggae singer OMI climbed to the top of the singles charts with his track Cheerleader – shifting just over 1,000 copies more than his nearest rival Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth with See You Again. Canadian singer Jepsen, whose 2012 hit Call Me Maybe has sold more than a million copies in the UK, finished at number three with her track I Really Like You. In the album chart, Blur scored their first number one record in 12 years with The Magic Whip. Take That, who kicked off their UK tour this week, climb 42 places to Number 35 with III, and US country group Zac Brown Band score their first UK Top 40 album Jekyll + Hyde at 36. |
