Justin Bieber’s “Purpose” (Universal) debuts at the top of the Billboard Canadian Albums chart, his seventh chart-topping release, thanks to big sales and streaming numbers. The album picks up 77,000 album sales, nearly doubling the previous highest one week sales total so far in 2015, from Mumford & Sons. It is the highest one week sales total since Taylor Swift’s “1989” sold 107,000 units in its first week of release in November 2014. “Purpose” easily picks up his highest one week sales total to date, surpassing the 57,000 units sold in the first week of release for 2012’s “Believe.” Bieber also picked up a combined total of just under ten million On-Demand streams for all the songs on the album. On the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 chart, twelve songs from “Purpose” are in the top 50, including “Sorry” holding at No. 2 and “Love Yourself” leaping 85-3.

One Direction’s “Made In The A.M.” (Sony) debuts at No. 2 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart. The album picks up 44,000 units sold, more than a thousand units higher than the first week total of their last album, “Four,” which entered at No. 1 in November 2014. The band currently has ten songs charting on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100, including seven songs debuting this week.

Johnny Reid’s “What Love Is All About” (Universal) debuts at No. 3 with 15,000 units sold. It is his fourth straight album to debut in the top three.

Kevin Bazinet’s “Talk To Me” (Universal) debuts at No. 5 with 8,000 units sold. It is his first release since winning the third season of the TV competition series La Voix. Logic’s “Incredible True Story” (Universal) lands at No. 7 with 4,800 units sold. It is his highest charting and highest one week sales total to date, surpassing the No. 8 position reached with 2014’s “Under Pressure.”

Adele’s “Hello” (XL Recordings) continues to top the Billboard Canadian Hot 100, Digital Songs and Streaming Songs charts. The song also jumps 2-1 on the Hot 100 Airplay chart, her third chart-topper and first since “Set Fire To The Rain” in early 2012. The song tops three different radio format charts this week.

Ariana Grande’s “Focus” (Universal) holds at No. 10 on the Canadian Hot 100 and scores Greatest Gainer/Airplay honours. The song jumps 44-21 on the Hot 100 Airplay chart with a 55% audience increase.
