‘1989’ sold 43,428 copies in only three days beating the ‘Red’ debut with 29,369 sales. Swift also had an unusually high percentage of digital sales with ‘1989’ selling 25,737 digital copies to 17,691 CDs. Swift’s 43,428 sales makes ‘1989’ the fastest selling album of 2014 beating Coldplay ‘Ghost Stories’ which sold 34,097 in its first week. |
