BRITNEY Spears has marked the ‘Sweet 16th’ anniversary of her debut hit Baby One More Time, wondering “where did the time go?”
Spears was only 16 herself when she launched onto the singles charts with Baby One More Time, helped by a very suggestive music video of her in a schoolgirl’s outfit.
The song reached number one in Australia, the US and dozens of countries across the world and sold more than 30 million copies.

“Happy sweet 16 to ‘Baby One More Time’!” Spears wrote on Instagram. “Where did the time go!? Thx to my fans for supporting me since my 1st single #Happy16thBirthdayBOMT.”
It certainly has been an interesting 16 years for Spears. She has been married and divorced twice, given birth to two sons, shaved her head, entered a drug rehabilitation centre in 2007 and even briefly relinquished custody of her children.
She is currently booked for a two-year residency at Planet Hollywood Casino in Las Vegas.
