IGGY Azalea, Sia and 5 Seconds of Summer have landed multiple nominations for the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards in an incredible triumph for Aussie music.

24-year-old rapper Iggy Azalea scored a massive seven noms for her worldwide hit, Fancy, as well as her duet Problem, with Ariana Grande.

She was only outnominated by Beyonce, who scored 8 noms, while she was equalled by Eminem.

Aussie singer Sia scored two nominations, one for her chart-topper hit, Chandelier and a second for Battle Cry, a collaboration with Angel Haze.

The news came on the same day as Sia’s album 1000 Forms of Fear hit the Number One spot on the US Billboard charts for the first time.

Sydney band-of-the-moment 5 Seconds of Summer also scored a nomination in the Artist to Watch category and will perform at the prestigious awards show alongside artists such as Usher and Ariana Grande.

But they’ll have a tough act to follow after Cyrus’ now legendary twerking performance during last year’s VMAs caused so much tongue wagging.
