DESPITE rumours, mysterious tweets and global hysteria, record company bosses have denied claims that Adele will release a new album and embark on the tour by the end of the year.

The singer set off speculation herself in May when, a day before her 26th birthday, she tweeted: “Bye bye 25… See you again later in the year.”

The singer’s previous album titles, 19 and 21, reflected her age at the time. Fans wondered if the reference to seeing 25 again related to a new album title.

And the frenzy kicked off again when the Twitter account for the World Music Awards apparently announced the name of the album and a tour, tweeting, “#adele confirms 2015 Tour After The Release Of Her New Album 25!”

The tweet has since been deleted.

However, Martin Mills — chairman of Beggars Group, the parent company of Adele’s XL Recordings — told Billboard there is “no truth” to the tweet.

Still, we do know a little bit about the much-anticipated album.

Rock legend Phil Collins told Rolling Stone that he’d been in the studio with the singer, while mega-producer and One Republic rocker Ryan Tedder confirmed to MSN Music that he had also returned to work with the superstar.

“I’ve heard everything we’ve done, and I’m proud of it, or prouder of anything we did on the first album, and she is sounding even better than ever,” Tedder said.

However, even he reckons he doesn’t know when the album will be ready to go.

“She will deliver the album on her own timetable, at her own pace,” he said. “And the only person that will ever declare it finished will be her, when she decides it’s finished.”
