THE enduring love affair with Swedish pop supergroup ABBA should add considerably to their superannuation funds with a raft of releases to mark the 40th anniversary of their first hit Waterloo.
Their label is hoping to considerably add to the 375 million records sold over the past four decades and unveiled the tracklisting to yet another revamped three-disc Gold: Greatest Hits collection last week.
It will drop on April 4 as the band also prepares to celebrate an official photo book to mark the four-decade anniversary.
Now the band’s original Swedish label Polar Music has revealed their ABBA The Singles boxed set, with a special Australian release making the cut for the 40 vinyl singles.
When All Is Said And Done was released in Australia in late 1981 with the B-side Soldiers. Both songs were drawn from their final album The Visitors.
While The Winner Takes It All was written in the wake of the split between Björn Ulvaeus and Agnetha Fältskog, When All Is Said And Done detailed the divorce of Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Benny Andersson.
The singles boxed set will feature their single releases from 1972 to 1982 and include the Eurovision Prize-winning Waterloo, Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen, Take A Chance On Me, Honey, Honey and Fernando.
Most of the songs were the releases conceived by Polar for Scandinavian territories while nine others were issued by local labels in Europe and Australia.
It will be released on May 9.
