A Taylor-made cake for Swift visit
VISITING American superstar singer Taylor Swift celebrated her 24th birthday in Melbourne on Friday, with a special delivery.
Well known South Melbourne cake shop Let Them Eat Cake made a birthday cake for the singer, shaped in a guitar and delivered to her City hotel room.
Swift arrived in Melbourne on Thursday, as part of her world wide Red tour.
She didn’t stay cooped up in her hotel room, instead heading out to dinner with young Kiwi singer Lorde.
The pair ate at the King St restaurant Hibachi Japanese Grill.
Lorde and Swift recently met in the US, where the Kiwi had a No. 1 hit on her hands with the single Royals.
The singer had a good day – she received a Global Globe nomination for Best Original Song for her track Sweeter Than Fiction from the movie One Chance.
“A Golden Globe nomination on my birthday … I think it’s safe to say there will be no walking for me today, only skipping and frolicking,” she tweeted.
Swift plays at Etihad Saturday.
There are still tickets available through Ticketmaster.
