5SOS drummer Ashton in hospital
BAD new for fans of Aussie band 5 Seconds of Summer — one of the heart throbs is in hospital.
Drummer Ashton Irwin has been stricken with appendicitis, forcing the cancellation of the band’s upcoming visits to Britain and Japan.
The Sydney band were due to appear at the BBC Radio One Awards but have now pulled out.
5 SOS members took to Twitter to explain the cancellation, saying they wouldn’t be able to travel to the UK for the BBC Radio One Awards as “Ash isn’t well in hospital with appendicitis”.

The band have also postponed a scheduled trip to Japan.
They released a statement apologising to fans, saying “we never want to make any of you sad”. “Thanks so much for supporting all we do, we love you. Can’t wait for us four lads get back on the road (minus one band appendix) and rock out with you all again soon!”
