THE Spice Girls’ debut song, Wannabe, has been named the UK’s catchiest song beating out some surprising competition.
researchers for an online interactive game called Hooked on Music say that people could name the girl power anthem within 2.3 seconds of hearing it — compared with an average of five seconds for other popular songs.
The results were unveiled at the Manchester Science Festival overnight, which studied data from 12,000 participants.
More than 1000 songs were played from the 1940s to today with participants asked if they recognised a song.
