THEY may have split from their record label, but Brisbane pop duo The Veronicas won’t let that stand in the way of a good song … or a good meal.
Lisa and Jess Origliasso, back home in Brisbane to spend Christmas with their family, have hinted they’ll release new music next year after their contractual obligations with Warner Brothers lapse.

Their third album, Life on Mars, was mysteriously shelved last year. A video of them performing new songs in the studio hit YouTube two months ago, soon followed by a Facebook outburst in which the pair took aim at their label for blocking their efforts.
The pair have split with the label, and say they are looking forward to getting new songs to their fans.
“It’s all in the works right now,” Lisa said.
“Jess and I are together just constantly songwriting. We are writing pretty much every day and we are super-excited for the new year.”
And when they’re not writing music, the twins are in the kitchen, cooking up some of their favourite Italian meals.
“We both love cooking,” Lisa said.
“Dad’s side of the family is Italian, so every Christmas we all get together and do some pasta making.”
