Chart Listings: BB200: Drake 85K
Drakes Views stays put at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a 12th nonconsecutive week, earning another 85,000 equivalent album units (down 5 percent) in the week ending July 28, according to Nielsen Music. As Views surpasses the 11 weeks at No. 1 racked up by Taylor Swifts 1989 in late 2014 and early 2015, the rapper’s album now has the most weeks at No. 1 since 2014, when the Frozen soundtrack collected 13 frames at No. 1.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new Aug. 13-dated chart (where Views is No. 1) will be posted in full to Billboards websites on Tuesday, Aug. 2. Views has the most weeks at No. 1 for an album by an artist (as opposed to a soundtrack) since Adeles 21 ruled for 24 weeks in 2011 and 2012. The last male artist to spend more than 12 weeks at No. 1 was Billy Ray Cyrus, with his Some Gave All album (17 weeks) back in 1992. In the past 25 years, only nine albums have spent 12 or more weeks at No. 1: Artist, Title — Weeks at No. 1 |
