ONE day he’s dubbed by critics as Australia’s most exciting solo artist, the next he’s unable to get into a Surry Hills apartment and is forced to sleep on the concrete floor.
Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns was photographed looking physically exhausted and barely able to keep his eyes open before taking a quick catnap on the steps of a Surry Hills apartment on Friday.

Onlookers claim the Novocastrian attempted to get inside the Riley St property before finally giving up and making his way around the side of the home for a half-hour nap on the concrete steps — perhaps burnt out from his 90-minute gig at Vivid Festival the night before.

The uncomfortable-looking day nap comes just three weeks after the hard-partying rocker was taken to hospital on a stretcher after injuring his head in a fall outside Surry Hills cocktail bar Low 302 and six months after he pleaded guilty to one count of mid-range drink-driving in Merewether.
