THOSE old “scheduling conflicts” have nixed Lenny Kravitz’s tour of Australia in April.
The American rocker had been booked to perform at the annual Bluesfest in Byron Bay on April 2 with headlining concerts at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on April 6 and Qantas Credit
Union Arena on April 8.
His absence from Bluesfest probably won’t be missed with the festival featuring one of its strongest line-ups including The Black Keys, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, Hozier, Paolo Nutini, David Gray, Counting Crows, Alabama Shakes, Gary Clark Jr and George Clinton’s Parliament Funkadelic.

Kravitz’s latest album Strut peaked at No.31 on the Australian charts after its release in September last year.
“Unfortunately, due to contractual scheduling conflicts beyond my control, I will not be able to come to Bluesfest to perform this year,” Kravitz said in a statement. “I have been looking
forward to coming to play for my fans and I’m deeply sorry that my concert had to be
cancelled.
“My ability to come play for you all is a huge concern to me and while I am unable to confirm another time right now, I’m looking forward to rescheduling so I can perform for you in Byron Bay as soon as possible. Love and Respect…Lenny.”
Apparently he felt just as concerned about also cancelling upcoming shows in Asia, issuing the same statement to fans in Jakarta and Manila.

Kravitz has ramped up his acting career in recent years with starring roles in the Hunger Games and The Butler.
The 50-year-old musician was also one of the guests during Katy Perry’s scene-stealing performance at the Superbowl, joining her for I Kissed a Girl.

Bluesfest promoter Peter Noble said he was working on finding a replacement for the rocker.
If fans were going to the festival specifically to see Kravitz on April 2 and want a refund, they have until March 19 to act by calling the Bluesfest office on 02 66858310.
