IT DOESN’T take much to whip Radiohead fans into a lather and a cryptic photograph posted by the revered English band’s frontman has done just that — sparking speculation that a new album may be imminent.
Overnight, Radiohead’s lead singer Thom Yorke posted a mysterious picture on Tumblr of a white vinyl record being played, which has led to rumours that he was teasing fans about a new LP. A link to the image was retweeted by the band’s longtime producer (and sixth member by proxy) Nigel Godrich, adding more hype.

The rumour has some credibility because guitarist Jonny Greenwood revealed to BBC Radio 6 earlier this year that the band had plans to start work on new material.
“We’re going to start up in September, playing, rehearsing and recording and see how it’s sounding,” he said.
The critically lauded band has a legion of fans that watch their every move and, in turn, the band members are not afraid of using a cryptic web posts to tease them.
The band famously dropped a full album online in 2007, In Rainbows, and allowed customers to pay whatever they thought the album was worth.

They haven’t released a full album since their avant-garde eighth LP The King of Limbs in 2011, but the band’s multi-talented members have been kept busy with solo side projects and scoring films.
Fans have also suggested that the vinyl may indicate new solo music from Yorke, because artwork similar to that of his The Eraser and Amok albums can be seen in the background.
Or, as one person of Twitter suggested, the pic could mean nothing more than the fact that Yorke decided to spin some vinyl.
