THE Veronicas appear to be in a battle with their record company to release new music.

The Australian duo posted a message on their Facebook page that explained their musical silence in 2013.

“Despite our record label not allowing us to release music this year, we are still nominated in the top 50 for “Oz artist of the year” awards!”

The twins then posted a link to the Channel [V] site adding “HELP US shove it in their faces, and please VOTE at the link below!!”

However the post was swiftly deleted, as well as a string of comments from angry fans slating the record label.

The duo then reworded the post to remove the line about shoving it in their faces.

However when a fan asked if they were trying to change record labels they said “trying to right now”.

The Veronicas were signed directly to the American arm of Warner Music; the local arm declined to comment today.

The last release from The Veronicas was the single Lolita in July last year, which peaked at No.23 in Australia.

However their third album, Life on Mars, was mysteriously shelved after being due out last October and has yet to surface.

Their last album was 2007′s Hook Me Up.

The pair announced a new EP was being mastered last month, however it appears to be in limbo.

This year Lisa and Jessica Origliasso have continued to write songs for their third album, which already includes collaborations with Billy Corgan and Daniel Johns.

The pair’s 2007′s hit Untouched sold over a million copies in the US, reaching No.17 as well as No.8 in the UK.

They have had ten Australian Top 10 hits including 4Ever, Hook Me Up, Everything I’m Not, When It All Falls Apart and Take Me on the Floor.

The initial Top 50 Channel [V]‘s Artist of the Year nominees include Delta Goodrem, Boy & Bear, Bliss N Eso, Flume, Guy Sebastian, Havana Brown, Hilltop Hoods, Jessica Mauboy, Matt Corby, Reece Mastin, Ricki Lee, Samantha Jade, Seth Sentry, Tame Impala, Vance Joy, The Rubens, Timomatic and more.

The winner is announced in December, with voting now open at ozartist.vmusic.com.au
