From supermodel Cara Delevingne (who has performed with Pharrell Williams) to indie princess Sky Ferreira, Didier Cohen and even Erica Packer, these are the models who have made the move into music.

DIDIER COHEN

APART from modelling and his mentor role on Australia’s Next Top Model, Didier Cohen has carved a successful career as a DJ.

In July, the 30-year-old American-born model announced he had “signed to a label” (Sony) and he released a snippet of his first single Skyline overnight.

“I’ve been in the studio for the past 3 years working endlessly on music. Many horrible demos.. Many thrown away ideas but the dream has come true,” Cohen wrote on Facebook.

Skyline, featuring AJ Smith, is due out on September 11.

CARA DELEVINGNE

THE British model-turned-Paper Towns actor performed a song CC The World with Pharrell Williams at a Chanel show in April, which featured in the French fashion house’s short film, Reincarnation.

Delevingne has reportedly collaborated with her “wifey” Rita Ora, and sang a duet, Sonnentanz, with Will Heard.

She has modelled for Yves Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein and adidas, and was the face of hair brand Redken.

But last year US model Sky Ferreira became a major player in the indie music scene (and a Triple J darling) with the release of her debut album, Night Time My Time, which included the single You’re Not The One and a tour Down Under on the Splendour In The Grass bill.
